Watch Marathon Finish Online

Are you sad that you couldn't see your loved one (or loved "Boncimino"!) at the finish of this year's Houston Marathon or Half-Marathon?

Don't you wish you could somehow re-live the excitement of seeing the joy (or the pain) at the Finish Line?

Don't you feel kinda guilty that you weren't there?

Well, fret no longer. Due to the wonders of technology, the wonderful people at the Houston Marathon website have enabled online web viewing of the last 30 seconds of EVERYONE'S race! Just go to this website, click on the label marked "Finish Line Video", then enter the Bib number or name of the person you'd like to watch!

Some clues:
Greg: (Bib 779) When you watch my video, look for me in a light blue shirt and Oakley sunglasses. I come right down the middle and raise my arms at the finish. (Note my fine flat-footed running style!)

Cheryl: (Bib 25787) Cheryl is wearing a yellow shirt with a scarf around her neck. She finishes at the right side of the group as you watch the screen.

Ashley: (Bib 26194) Ashley is wearing a hot pink shirt, and finishes toward the middle-left side of the screen. She raises her arms in victory at the finish. :-)

Brooke: Unfortunately they didn't do webcam for the 5K, so you won't be able to watch Brooke's finish.

Please go take a look, then come back here to leave a comment. What did you think of our respective finishes? Also, for kicks, type in the bib numbers of random people, and tell me if you find any funny or memorable finishes -- it might be fun to go back and watch.

P.S. Post Race Recovery is going great. I rode the stationery bike at the gym yesterday for 17 miles, then ran a nice 3 miles today here in Lafayette, Louisiana. Tomorrow I'll be in New Orleans (business trip...)

P.P.S. Take a look at Page 8 of our running club's newsletter (PDF file). An article by someone you know.... ;-)

That webcam deal is the coolest, Greg. I could see your pain after you check your watch. Ouch. Ashley and Cheryl both looked great. Huge accomplishment, all of you.
I will start my walking again as the weather is a little more agreeable, at least for January in Chicago. Love to all, Mom
