Happy Christmas from Malaysia

We have REAALLLLLY been out of touch with our family back home. It is now December 26th, and we didn't make contact on either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. We hope that everyone had a nice holiday. Here in Malaysia, as you would imagine, there isn't a whole lot of attention given to Christmas. There actually are some decorations in the malls, but not much more.

This year we didn't have an "over the top" Christmas -- just a nice "at home" one. Our church didn't do a Christmas Eve service, and we couldn't find any churches in all of KL doing a Christmas service, so we pretty much stayed home. We hit just one Christmas party - a nice afternoon of mulled wine with some friends in our neighborhood.

One thing that was kind of funny is that we decided NOT to wrap any presents this year. We are calling it, "The Bonciminos Go Green!" A & B are going to write a nice article about our reduced-waste Christmas. They have some fun photos to show what we did. Yes, another crazy Boncimino original. As for our Christmas dinner, we decided to just go out for something rather than cook and make a big mess. We went to our favorite (only!) Mexican restaurant and ordered their "Christmas Set" dinner, which consisted of turkey (very hard to find in KL), a baked potato, squash soup, stuffing, and minced pie. A fun night out.

We watched three Christmas movies in the last 3-4 days, and had so much fun last night playing LIFE as a family. I think we're all realizing that this is our LAST Christmas as the family unit we've always known. By this time next year, Ashley will just be coming back from her first semester at university. Things will be great, but different. For now, we just had a blast just being the four of us. We had a lot of laughs, and memories to last a long time.

Well, it's 7:10am on Dec 26. Time for me to head to work. I only got Tuesday off this week. Such is the life of a field office. Our engines don't take Christmas off, so we really can't either. Love and miss all of you.
