Easter 2006

Happy Easter. These words mean so much more than pastel colors, rabbits that hide eggs, and mounds and mounds of chocolate. These words are a celebration of the fact that our God fufilled His promise to the world. He gave us a way to spend our eternity with Him. For that, we can only be grateful.

The picture above was taken of us just after we finished our third Easter service at church. Like almost every Easter, we found ourselves neck-deep in serving at church. I ran sound, Cheryl helped lead worship, and our girlies assisted wherever possible. We've done a lot of these now; and it never gets old.

After we got home, I shot the picture below of our two beautiful teenage daughters.

How lucky to be the dad of these two amazing young women.

We've decided to not make Easter dinner a huge deal this year. Instead, we are focusing on dessert. Ashley has promised to create a cobbler that we won't soon forget (is that a good thing or a bad thing??) I'm sure we're in store for something wonderful -- yet again.

Today is hot and sunny in Houston. 90 degrees is supposed to be the high temp for the day. Yahoo. Maybe we'll take our first official dip (of '06!) in the pool -- never can tell.

Have a great Easter.

P.S. Thanks to an anonymous donation, I have now met my fundraising goal for the MS150. (Thank you, whomever did that!) The ride is just six days away, and I'm as excited as ever. Riding 180 miles with 13,000 fellow bicyclists is a blast.

You guys are so cute!!!!Did the Texans blow up any Peeps this year? For something new, we made Easter Bunnies out of marshmallows (regular and minis), decorated them with frosting and then, you guessed it, zapped em.Just not the smae without Chris, Phil and you laughing hysterically.

Love you, Mom/Grandma
PS Good luck on your ride this weekend. We just got word of a friend diagnosed with MS.
