Through the miracles of time travel, or perhaps just the fact that the world is round, I am living at 5:58pm right now while everyone back home is sleeping at 4:58am. We're about to head out to dinner Sunday evening, while Ash & Brooke are sound asleep (we hope!!) and going to wake up in a few hours for church.
Cheryl and I have had a great day today here in Singapore. We took a great run through the amazing Singapore Botanic Gardens, then enjoyed a nice brunch at the Regent, then checked on the news via the Internet. What in the world is going on with the Cubs? They lost to the Sox 0-7 yesterday, and got into a fight? I love the shot Barrett took at Pierzinski, but was that really necessary? It just makes the Cubs look like a struggling club (which they are) facing a very strong world champion in the Sox (which THEY are). Hmmmm....
(In other news, check out how our amazing Rice Owls baseball team is doing -- #1 ranked in NCAA Division 1 collegiate baseball (in ALL THREE POLLS!). They've won 28 of their last 30, and just won C-USA with a mere 22-2 record!! I know college baseball is nothing like football or basketball, but when you're a school like Rice (highly academic), being able to succeed at ANY sport is a huge deal. Let's hope our team can win the College World Series again, just like in 2003. (Anyone willing to be a Rice Baseball fan, at least for the next month or so??) Cmon, it's fun!
Well, we're off to a dinner party, so I must log off. We head back for the States tomorrow. Please let me know if you're willing to be a Rice Baseball fan, but in far more serious matters, go to my mom's blog -- read about her latest thoughts about Katie, and leave a comment. Words of encouragement for my dear sister are far much more important than a baseball poll.
signing out for now
