KL House Hunting - Days 4 & 5

Well, I finally uploaded some photos of our last couple of days here in Asia. You're welcome to see them here:

KL House Hunt - Days 4 & 5

We spent the weekend in Singapore. Two dinner / social engagements on Saturday and Sunday evening with new colleagues from the Solar office in Singapore really went well. Cheryl and I already know more about my fellow employees and their spouses in just two days than we have learned in four years in Houston. The level of comraderie and "family" in the Asia region is much greater than in Texas.

As we make our relocation plans, we are finding that our decisions are continually based on weighing pluses and minuses against each other. For each housing option, there are both pros and cons. The key is trying to figure out which pluses are more important than which minuses. At this point, it really seems that the benefit of being close to the girls' school outweighs proximity to my office. I will indeed have a hefty commute, but feel that it's worth it.

We made some approximate dates for the move. At this point, we're thinking that we will leave the U.S. on Monday, June 26th, with my first day of work the following Monday (July 3rd). School starts August 9th, so this will give us a good month to get situated.

Now, we head back for home. We can't wait to see our girls and of course Alfredo. Then, it's time to begin packing.
